Paul Edward Goldschmidt is a professional baseball first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals of Major League Baseball.

Born on September 10, 1987, in Wilmington, Delaware, Paul attended The Woodlands High School and played for their baseball team. He was part of the winning state championship team with the Woodlands in 2006. He went on to play college baseball for the Texas State Bobcats and was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the 2009 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the same team in 2011. He has also played for the St. Louis Cardinals during his MLB career.

During his 12 seasons in the majors, Paul's biggest coup arguably was winning the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 2022. He is a seven-time MLB All-Star, two-time Hank Aaron Awardee, four-time Gold Glove winner, and five-time Silver Slugger Awardee.
